(We currently don't know yet but.)ĪNOTHER ALTERNATIVE SPOILERS FROM THINKING WITH TIME MACHINE MOD! DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED IT YET! Meanwhile Chell has escaped through Aperture as well or alternatively not. But by far we know Portal 2 game story goes on,we know Virgil doesn't appear there, which is known by the date and we can tell that he is gone as time passed. Questionably Virgil still stays but has some small regrets shutting down AEGIS,there is nothing could have been done in the end anyways,it is done what is done. I do understand Mel has escaped and it is for her own good, but real world is collapsed and is in ruins. It’s a free mod if you already own Portal 2 on Steam, so definitely worth a look. So,Mel has escaped but at what cost? I really feel like Mel could have helped out more in Aperture and save other test subjects especially on Chell. That said, those are big shoes to fill, so I didn’t necessarily have high expectations in that department.

The humor that Portal is known for really isn’t there.

High-quality voice acting, and there’s a LOT of it, but the characters/writing definitely aren’t as lovable as GLaDOS, Wheatley, and Cave Johnson. (i.e. “climbing” higher by shooting the portal containing the funnel up and up along a wall.) Some would probably consider it creative thinking, but I found it frustrating that I had to throw everything I’d learned out the window and rethink how to play the game, especially when there is no introductory tutorial. Also, I dunno if I just solved the puzzles “incorrectly,” but I found many solutions utilized techniques that the original Portal games never intended. Puzzles are fun and challenging, but I found there was an overuse of Emancipation Grills (GRILLS, not Grids, goddammit) and two cubes to open the door. Loved that little paperclip on the Portal Device. That ending sequence was top notch.ĭesigns are great. And the cutscenes, while minimal, are stellar, and really do feel like they came straight from Valve. There’s a lot of attention to detail, though at times I was confused at which way to go because of it. The environments and graphics are absolutely beautiful.

From the girl who is a little bit too obsessed with the Portal series. Finished Portal Stories: Mel so just gonna give my thoughts.
